Abstract(in English) In recent years, the transition to the microcell and femtocell structure has been considered to achieve high-speed and high-quality wireless communication. In the small cell, angle of arrival of waves become a high elevation relative to the existing base station, and the investigation of the direction of elevation is required. Therefore, 2D-DOA estimation including the elevation direction is an important technology. accuracy in elevation estimation is degraded in the 2-D DOA using planar array antenna because of small aperture plane of elevation angle. Spatial antenna arrangement is required to widen the aperture plane of elevation angle. Therefore, we propose and consider the 2-D DOA estimation by using 13 elements pyramid shaped array antenna. In performing the estimation, we choose the four elements for use in DOA estimation from all elements in consideration of downsizing receiver and difference of received gain between each element. Hence, how to select the optimum elements is needed. In this paper, we study how to select optimal elements and 2D-DOA estimation by using pyramid shaped array antenna.
