Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a data-embedded-reduction-image generation method which utilizes for high-quality image enlargement. Generally, image enlargement is defined as a method to generate a high-resolution image from one or plural low-resolution images. On the other hand, in this paper, we assume that a high-resolution image is available for the processing. The proposed method embeds pixel's information, which is lost in the reduction process, into the reduction-image. In the image enlargement process, the proposed method reads the embedded information then utilizes it to generate a high-resolution image. An effectiveness of proposed method is verified by some experiments. The results show that the proposed method achieves better performance than conventional methods when it uses 2 bits embedded data for each generated pixel.
