Detection of Road Boundaries Using Hyperbolic Road Model

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a detection method of road boundaries using hyperbolic road model for moving imagescaptured by in-vehicle cameras. The detection method for center lines is used for the parameter estimation of the hyperbolic road model in the proposed method. However, the center line detection method is affected by the edge of the vehicle ahead.To avoid this adverse effect, we detect the existence of the car ahead and the available extent of the detection result of the center line is applied. Experimental results show that good detection performance is obtained for a vadety of road enviromments.
