Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To operate mobile routers for a long time,it is necessary to introoduce a power saving function. In the conventional method, the AP in mobile router enters the sleep mode to save the power consumption only when the MAC queuein the AP is empty. For more reduction of the power consumption, the AP should enter the sleep mode actively. Therefore, this paper proposes a queuing control between Layer 3 and MAC queues in an mobile router to make an empty MAC queue,in the assumption of best effort communication being acceptable to delay. The contribution of the paper is the queuing control based on frame arrival rate on Layer 3 queue,in addition to low unnecessary delay caused by the queuing control.Simulation results show that the proposed control achieves low power consumption compared to the conventional method, and extremely low unnecessary delay.
