Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We investigated the speaker's intentions that the listeners perceived depending on the combinations of a sentence-final particle and its intonation. (1)The result of clustering of FO contours at the sentence-final syllable derived from approximately 2,000 utterances showed the sentence-final intonations varied a great deal. (2)Six FO contours that were perceptually different from each other were selected from among the cluster centroids. (3)The listening evaluation of synthetic speech showed that a suitable combination of a sentence-final particle and its intonation should be used to unfailingly convey the speaker's intention to the listeners, and whether the sentence was affirmative or negative affected the listeners' perception of the intention.
