Arc Splitting Process in Low Voltage Device

Abstract(in English) Because of the difficulty caused by misconvergence in calculation, it's hard to analyze arcing process with dozens kA current in low voltage device by MHD method. In this paper without considering fluid characteristic of arc plasma, a simplified model based on LTE foundation is developed to study influence of splitter plates to arc splitting. By using a high speed CCD camera the arcing process is observed, simultaneously the corresponding current and value of the arc are measured. The processes of arc splitting in experiments are explained by the simulation results.
