Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An optical line switching method that does not interrupt communication is urged for an efficient field maintenance operation. So far, we have proposed an error-free optical access line switching system by using temporarily duplicated detour line for current line. This system comprises of optical components such as optical amplifiers, wave converters and optical delay lines. In this paper, we propose an uninterruptible optical access line switching system using electric variable delay line based on the previous studies. We show the proposed system configuration that comprises of photoelectric transceivers and solid state electric delay line devices. We also show the basic results of an experiment using prototype system.
