Optimal Antenna Configuration for Multi-user MIMO to be Robust against Channel Variation

Abstract(in English) It is well known that the performance of multi-user MIMO system is very sensitive against channel feedback error due to channel variation, channel quantization, and channel estimation error. Conventional approaches to tackle this problem were to shorten the feedback period, to enlarge codebook size, and so on. In this paper, we focus on the array antenna configuration of basestation for multi-user MIMO systems. By taking into account the statistical property of channel matrices of selected users, the optimal antenna configuration can be derived that realizes robust multi-user MIMO in terms of channel feedback error.
