Collision detection utilizing MIMO transmission : Proposal of access control method for collision detection

Abstract(in English) In the wireless transmission, degradation of communication quality by the interference wave and packet collisions is significant issue, when the number of users increases. For example, since the wired LAN can detect the packets collision inside the Ethernet cable, the retransmission control may be immediately achieved after the collision is detected. This function performs the transmission efficiency 90% or more. The other hand, since the wireless LAN may not detect packets collision while transmitting, right or wrong of the reception is judged according to the reply of ACK (Acknowledgment). This function is a cause of a very low transmitting efficiency of about 60%. The purpose of this study proposes the novel access control scheme by the collision detection technology with MIMO antenna, and the transmitting efficiency equal with wired LAN is achieved on wireless LAN. The basic evaluation of the transmitting efficiency was analyzed by the computer simulation. In this evaluation result, the proposed scheme performed the transmitting efficiency of about 90%.
