Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, a P2P video content delivery service (P2PTV) has attracted attention as well as a Web video service. However, P2P applications do not take the physical network topology into account. It may occur unnecessary traffic through internet service providers (ISPs). For this problem, we have proposed the P2P-DISTO (P2P delay insertion scheme for traffic optimization), an approach to insert additional delay to packets to/from other domains. We have not though evaluated the quality of service (QoS) and the quality of experience (QoE) on P2PTV applications when P2P-DISTO is applied. In this paper, we evaluate QoS and QoE on P2PTV applications at SopCast, PPStream and PPTV and investigate how long additional delay users can accept. The results indicate that many users can accept the additional delay of even more than 1000 milliseconds if the content length is enough long.
