Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The aim of this study is to investigate whether the self-face representation represents a mirror-reversed image. We photographed the facial image of each participant and produced five morphed images between the still image and its mirror one (0% [normal image], 20%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 80%, 100% [mirror-reversed image]). Based on the Scheffe's method of paired comparison (Ura's modified method), participants rated seven kinds of their own faces. We averaged the evaluation values per each face, then calculated the estimation value. The results showed that the mirror-reversed image is closer to the representation of self-face than the normal one. But the analysis of variance showed that there is no significant difference between the two.
