Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the present study, we investigated the choice feedback effect on preference formation for faces. After choosing between two equally preferred faces, participants rated the selected faces better than they initially did. Our results suggest that (1) choice actually enhances preference on face even when choice couldn't be guided by preexisting preference (Experiment 1), (2) choice feedback effect emerges only when participants are required to choose a preferred face (Experiment 2, Experiment 3), (3) this effect couldn't be canceled out by the explicit knowledge that choices were not guided by preexisting preferences (Experiment 4).
