On Confinement of Electromagnetic Field in Post Array Waveguide

Abstract(in English) In this report, confinement of electromagnetic wave in post array waveguide was experimentally and numerically confirmed, by applying two-dimensional photonic crystal structure with pillar-type triangular lattice in microwave frequency. For isolated straight waveguide and Y-shaped branch waveguide by post array, transmission and reflection characteristics were demonstrated for frequency band from 3.6GHz to 4.2GHz. From agreement between field profile by CIP method and amount of transmission by measurement, confinement of electromagnetic wave in post array waveguide was confirmed. Under waveguide parameters used here, it was found that post array more than 3 layers are necessary.
