Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper reports an investigation of effective acoustic features for discriminating falsetto register and modal register in singing voices. The voice register discrimination based on Support Vector Machine was conducted by using five different acoustic features related to physiological and acoustical characteristics of the voice registers. Five features are fundamental harmonic to another harmonic ratio, linear prediction coefficients, cepstrum coefficients, low to high spectrum power ratio and fundamental frequency. The results shows fundamental frequency and lower order cepstrum coefficient are effective for discriminating the vocal registers.
