Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we discuss channel estimation methods for OFDM systems using acircular array antenna. In the OFDM system with the array antenna, the channel frequency responses correlate with each other along antenna-frequency axes owing to a channel complex envelope, a delay time and a direction performances in comparison with the estimate without error. In this paper, we propose a new channel estimation method based on the maximum likelihood criterion using a channel model with parameters which are the channel envelope and the direction of arrival of each path. The proposed method can estimate the channel response using only one pilot OFDM symbol period even if the multiple paths arrive at the same time. By computer simulations, we show that the proposed method can outperform the conventional one with respect to the coherent detection performance using the channel estimates.
