Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) ALMA (Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array) is the international radio astronomy project being carried out by East Asia (led by National Astronomical Observatory of Japan), North America and Europe in cooperation of Chile. Because researchers are supposed to use the telescope from their institutions without climbing up to the 5000m site, ALMA Regional Centers have been established in Japan, North America, and Europe for user support (observation proposal preparation, observing script, data acquisition, and data reduction). R&E networks including SINET are being used for networking infrastructure. We report the status of the observatory and its operation plan briefly.
