Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Most space-time codes have been designed so that they have full-rank. However, when the number of receive antennas is large, the Euclidean distance , namely minimum trace, plays a more important role in performance. In this paper, we propose space-time codes using the 64QAM that are suitable for the situation. Also, we evaluate the BER of submatrix space-time codes made of the proposed codes. The proposed codes are compared the bit error probability with the quasi-orthogonal space-time block codes (QOSTBC) and the Alamouti code. The results show the proposed codes have a small rank, however, significant performance gain when the number of receive antennas is large. In addition, a 4 × 2 submatrix space-time code that sends 12 bits one time shows BER=10^<-3> in case of SNR is 18 dB.
