Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper we study the radiation characteristics of curved surface patch antenna by means of analytical approach. As one of advantages of the patch antenna, it is available to be formed on smooth curve surface. With comparison to flat patch antenna, the size of aperture reduces so that slightly beam-width broadens and gain decreases. Generally electrical size of patch is small, so numerical approach, such as method of moment, is adapted to study or design the radiation characteristics. But here, we try to apply analytical approach, aperture field method or physical optics, to the curved surface rectangular patch antenna. The radiation pattern can be expressed by Fresnel integral since phase distribution of main two slots is approximated to quadratic shape.
