Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For the reflection method that can measure the radiation efficiency of small antennas using the rectangular waveguide and sliding shorts, a dip of the radiation efficiency is observed when the cavity formed by the wavegude and shorts is resonant. To overcome the difficulty, the reflection coefficient at the cavity resonance should be excluded when evaluating the radiation efficiency. For the antenna system under test with large loss, the reflection coefficients measured draws a circle whose center is off the origin of the Smith chart and radius is smaller than unity when the sliding shorts are moved. So, the detection algorithm for the cavity resonance using the magnitude of the reflection coefficient should be confirmed to be applied to the antenna with large loss. In addition to the above confirmation, we examine a novel detection method to judge that the measured reflection coefficients are on a circle by calculating the cross-ratio.
