Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a method to synthesize a free viewpoint image using the method using multi-resolution decomposition and Plane Sweeping (PS) method. In the proposed method, we generate a free viewpoint image with each method. From there, to produce an image without distortion, we apply the method using multi-resolution decomposition to only distorted region created in the PS method. The distortion created in the PS method is detected using the error between the depth of each band estimated in the method using multi-resolution decomposition. In experimental results, we show our method can detect the approximate occluded region, in addition, improving quality of the region.
