Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Our aim is to develop the communication support system for handicapped person, and this paper describes the eye detection and blinking detection from image sequence. A face is first detected in the image. The eye detection method of Six-Segmented Rectangular (SSR) filter is applied to the inside of extracted face region. Several eye candidates are detected and these candidates are fed to support vector machine. Next, the blinking detection is applied. We took five movies and applied the eye detection and blinking detection. As the result, the averaging eye detection rate of 85% and F-value of 0.57 was obtained.
