Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, personal authentications have been important because of the increase in use of the portable devices and ICcards which are used by an individual person. Some visual methods which use graphics have been proposed for the purpose of reducing the human memory load and preventing peeping attacks during authenticating with the conventional password. However, few researches of the non-visual methods are known. In this paper, we propose the personal authentication using cocktail-party effect. The method authenticates a person by distinguishing a particular sound from some jamming sounds. In this paper, we report the results of two experiments on the authentication method.
