Optical Network Management System with Immediate Response for Various Path Set-up Requirements

Abstract(in English) Recently, in order to satisfy requirements for higher QoS and larger capacity, many researches are engaging in optical networks to speed up, to be larger capacity, and to be wider area. On the other hand, from the aspect of service provision, the idea of content oriented network, where contents are routed based on their names, has attracted attention. In the future, we expect that a communication service on optical network that searches combinational solutions of an appropriate server and a route, and establishes paths to meet users' demand becomes feasible and mainstream. Therefore, we have proposed a service platform where services and network elements are treated in a unified manner as components like distributed web service for finding solutions. In this paper, on this platform, we propose an optical network management system with the reuse of established optical paths, which can quickly reply on answer when route setting is requested to a control unit like an AS and can manage network resource scalably. This decreases the number of signaling processes for optical path establishment between boundary nodes in the control unit. Finally we show the effectiveness of the proposed method by the extensive computer simulation.
