Abstract(in English) | mTreebone is a Peer-to-Peer live streaming of a hybrid type. To enhance the tolerance to node departures without decreasing the upload bandwidth to the subscribers, mTreebone probabilistically and continuously promotes several nodes as the backbone node in addition to the deterministic promotion according to the elapsed time after joining the system. In this paper, we will extend the promotion probability in mTreebone in such a way that it gives a better trade-off point between the risk and the benefit. In addition, in order to avoid the chain of "bandwidth shortage" during the reconnection to the new parent, we propose to occupy a certain amount of bandwidth for each reservation of the candidate node. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated by simulation. The result of simulations indicates that it certainly improves the tolerance to the node departures. |
