Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, P2P systems have attracted considerable attention in the fields of file management, data distribution and streaming. It is a critical issue for P2Ps to motivate users to contribute to the system since P2Ps are dependent on the contribution of the participants. In this paper, we propose a churn-tolerant incentive scheme for tree-based P2P livestreaming systems. Our basic idea is to extend Chu et al.'s taxation scheme to be churn-tolerant. More concretely, after providing a model of peer's tendency of departure, we introduce a new scheme for the tree maintenance so that: 1) it reflects the peer's tendency of departure and 2) the risk of departure is distributed over all peers considering the quality of services received from the system. The result of simulations indicates that the proposed scheme certainly improves the churn-tolerance of the Chu et al.'s scheme.
