Information Analysis for Fractal Structure in Generalized Multi-Dimensional Quality Space : Quality Control Using Local Fractal Dimension

Abstract(in English) Information analysis for multi-quality properties has been proposed in the field of communication quality by using a generalized mathematical procedure. That is, multi-quality space can be composed, and then time changes of the fractal information structure can be discussed. The time series or discrete dynamical orbits are considered as a quality time series, and the local fractal dimension (LFD) can be measured in the finite short unit on the orbit. By sliding the unit along the line of the orbit, the fractal information changes can be evaluated at the same time. In this paper, it is shown that the distribution of the moving LFD in random sampling is a normal distribution. And the distributions of the moving LFD in a logistic orbit are also normal distributions, in the restricted range of the control parameter when the logistic mapping was carried out based on computer simulation. An abnormal quality situation may be detected if the range of the LFD can be estimated in the normal situation. The proposed method can be applied to various fields in statistical quality control, including communication quality.
