Resource Capacity Prediction Method for Service Level Management Automation

Abstract(in English) We propose a resource capacity prediction method with two-stage data filter for non-stationary workloads. Accurately predicting the resource capacity with satisfying service level requirements is an important problem in business critical applications. The proposed method removes the temporal workloads based on the probability distribution, approximates the model between the workloads and the resource capacity. We have implemented a prototype and evaluated it with observed data by J2EE application benchmark. Our experimental results show that the proposed method enables to calculate accurately the expected resource usage for incoming request.
