Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Gaze patterns are affected by a subject's visual task. In preference judgment of abstract paintings, experts (artists; people who have a profound knowledge of art) tend to have their preferences more clearly than non-experts. This difference may be caused by the difference of strategies. To confirm the difference between experts and non-experts in gaze patterns, we analyzed gaze locations data of experts and non-experts in experiments of preference judgment. As a result, the experts had longer saccadic distances than the non-experts. Moreover, the fixation distributions of the non-experts were similar to each other compared to those of experts. These results suggest that an expert uses a larger useful field of view and has his/her own strategy in preference judgment.
