Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, the remote desktop attracts attention as one of cloud services. In the remote desktop, a user can operate GUIs and/or desktop environments of a virtual machine, which runs on the machine in a data center, from his/her machine through the network. To realize the remote desktop, several remote desktop protocols have been proposed. However, it has not been well understood how effectively open-source remote desktop protocols work when those are used with open-source cloud technologies. In this paper, we focus on the impact of network environment on the performance of three major open-source remote desktop protocols. Through experiments, we show the applicable region of three open-source protocols.
