Abstract(in English) In this paper, the topology optimization method based on the function expansion method has been applied to the optimal design of wavelength demultiplexing devices used in the wavelength division multiplexing(WDM) photonic network. In this approach, the structure of the optimized device depends on the initial condition and the parameters for optimization. First, we discuss the initial structures for this optimization and get the optimized structure, in which the normalized transmission of about 90% for each wavelength channel can be realized. Next, in order to obtain flat band transmission, we investigate the optimization with more wavelengths. Finally, in order to show the difference of the obtained results in the different expansion functions, other types of expansion function are also investigated.
