Abstract(in English) NTT has been developing outdoor 120-GHz-band wireless link that can transmit 10-Gbit/s data in order to meet the requirement of broadband outdoor backhaul wireless link. The 120-GHz-band wireless link employs photonics technologies based on the uni-traveling carrier photodiode (UTC-PD) and electronic circuit technologies based on the InP HEMT devices. The 120-GHz-band wireless link has achieved error-free transmission of 10-Gbit/s data over a distance of 5.8km. This paper presents the photonic and electronic technologies that contribute to extending the transmission distance of the 120-GHz-band wireless link.
