Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Speech recognition has a problem that background noise degrades the recognition performance. Spectral subtraction as a noise suppression method is not sufficient when the noise is temporally changing during speech activity. We propose time adaptive noise estimation using environmental images to supplement the insufficiency of the spectral subtraction, and expect improvement of the recognition performance. The result of evaluation experiments in computer simulation environment showed increase of the recognition accuracy where signal-to-noise ratio of noisy speech is 15 and 20 dB.
