Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Images and videos usually contain privacy sensitive information (PSI) such as faces; therefore, publishing such images and videos may violate the privacy of people who appear in them. Visual abstraction techniques such as blurring and blocking out can prevent images and videos from violating privacy. However, it is unclear how effective they are for privacy protection. In this report, we propose ID reachability, which is a quantitative measure for effectiveness of privacy protection, and demonstrate the effectiveness of various visual abstraction techniques by a questionnaire. We also derive parameter values that achieve a certain level of ID reachability.
