Abstract(in English) Recently, heterogeneous network (HetNet), which is a network with pico base stations installed inside the cell range of conventional macro cells to accommodate rapidly increasing traffic, has become a hot research topic. Although pico BS location is a critical issue, most of conventional researches empirically decide pico BS locations and only discuss design parameters such as cell range, resource allocation, and power control. This paper considers the optimal pico BS locations in heterogeneous network with hotspots and also optimizes other design parameters. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated by numerical results.
