Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To establish a new approach for image quality assessment, we focus on the changes in the facial muscles observing the image content and, discuss the possibility of the image quality assessment method by using the electromyogram of facial muscles. In the experiment, subjective evaluation experiment was carried out by the conventional questionnaire, and at the same time the electromyogram of facial muscles was measured. In this paper, after removing the effects of noise and eye blink, we are analizing the obtained data again. As a result, in the case of the low quality image was observed, the average value of the magnitude of muscle activity of the muscles around the eye is high. This tendency was verified as the t-test significant difference. On the other hand, in the case of high quality image was observed, that tendency was not observed. From the above, we can discuss the relation of the image quality and the value evaluated by electromyogram based on the facial muscles.
