Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An important issue of robust watermarking for image is to achieve a better tradeoff between quality of watermarked image and accuracy of watermark detection. In the previous work, we have presented a hybrid method of two basic embedding schemes, additive and multiplicative schemes, which embeds a watermark by both rules so that the degradation of image quality caused by one embedding is decreased by the other. We restrict an embedding domain to those which only consist of positive values, like the spatial domain and the DFT domain. In this paper, we extend our hybrid method for general embedding domains that consist of both positive and negative values, like the DWT domain. We experimentally confirm that the extended hybrid scheme provides better performance than additive and multiplicative schemes in the DWT domain.
