Wearable Augmented Reality System with Haptic Feedback

Abstract(in English) In the reasearch field of augmented reality (AR), not only study to superimpose virtual objects but also study to achieve the interaction with virtual objects have been actively done. Haptic feedback is important to improve the operability of virtual objects. However, cases of the AR systems in which users can touch virtual objects are still not many. Moreover, in those cases the area users can move around is small. In those systems users can't perform activities which need large workspace. In this paper, we developed the AR system in which users can perform activities which need large workspace by combining the wearable haptic feedback device and the markerless AR technology. We evaluated the system from a difference of the operability of virtual objects in the assembly task.
