Large Scale Collection, Analysis, and Visualization of Multimedia Web

Abstract(in English) The Web has been experienced explosive growth involving diverse multiple media, such as blogs, photo/movie/link sharing, social networks, and microblogs. The mass media including TV still has big influence, and interaction between the Web and mass media has rapidly become more active. Large scale collection, analysis, and visualization of those multiple media are strongly required for sociology, linguistics, risk management, and marketing researches. We are building an infrastructure towards the multimedia Web analysis in a collaborative research team from National Institute of Informatics, Waseda University, and Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo. In this talk, I first introduce our own Web archive and crawling techniques. Then I present link and text analysis techniques and visualization methods for the multimedia Web.
