Abstract(in English) | To explain the relationships between functions and structures of proteins, it is important to identify locally similar sites on protein molecular surfaces by comparing protein 3D structures. In this paper, we propose a method of comparing protein structures, in which the molecular surfaces are regarded as 3D images and the similarity between them is calculated by detecting keypoints from the images and computing local features at each keypoint. We applied the proposed method to prediction of protein's binding sites, which shows the accurate prediction of binding sites in six out of eleven proteins. |
