A model for firing patterns of pancreatic β-cell

Abstract(in English) We propose a model of a pancreatic β-cell that consists of three differential equations to automatically perform the Andronov-Hopf bifurcation. Our proposed model is based on the Morris-Lecar model and has an extra equation, which describes the movement of the nullclines of the Morris-Lecar model. Then, limit cycles from the proposed model can move in the state space. Using this model, we can reproduce two major characteristics firing patterns observed from pancreatic β-cells.
