Abstract(in English) It is important to measure cough reflex for aspiration and respiratory ailment. A Throat microphone detected sound of coughing, and a parameter for discriminating from other sound such as conversation was estimated. A measuring system that consists of a motherboard, instrumentation circuit, and a throat-microphone was developed for detecting a sound of coughing. The mother-board of card size with MCU(MSP430) was used to collect throat microphone, and send the data to the PC with wireless communication, and do the processing. Present system performed detection of sound of coughing in everyday life, without restraining the limbs.
