Abstract(in English) In this report, the antenna characteristics were analyzed, which antenna is a microstrip antenna (MSA) with a horn for enhancing the antenna gain. The half power beam width (HPBW) and front-to-side ratio (FSR) were evaluated when the size of the horn was changed. As a result, the narrower beam and higher FSR are attained with the larger horn. In addition, an absorbing layer was arranged around the aperture of the horn to obtain higher FSR. The layer reduced the side lobe level with little influence on the gain. Finally, designed antenna has HPBW of 46.4 deg. and 56.0 deg. in E-plane and H-plane, respectively. The feasibility and validity of the antenna is clarified for evaluation of the shielding effectiveness by using incoming wave.
