Abstract(in English) | This report introduces a millimeter-wave 60 GHz band OFDM experimental system that can achieve 10 Gbps transmission by using both LDPC code with high coding rate and 64QAM, and clarifies transmission performances of the experimental system employing decision-directed phase noise compensation (DD-PNC). Millimeter-wave 60 GHz band silicon RF-CMOS IC causes the relatively large phase noise, which degrades transmission performance of 64QAM. In order to solve this problem, DD-PNC, which compensates for the phase noise in OFDM reception processing, has been proposed and its effectiveness has been verified by 8 Gbps transmission experiment. The 10 Gbps millimeter-wave OFDM experimental system was developed by employing high-resolution baseband circuit and advanced transmission and reception processing, and thus this report presents the detail of the 10 Gbps experimental system. It realizes 10 Gbps bit-rate by combining LDPC code with coding rate of 14/15 and 64QAM. In order to achieve excellent performances of the 10 Gbps transmission, (i) 8-bit resolution ADC/DAC, which the conventional 8 Gbps experimental system employed, is upgraded to 12-bit resolution one, (ii) decision-directed channel estimation (DDCE) that alleviates accuracy degradation of channel estimation caused by the phase noise is applied to it in addition to DD-PNC, and (iii) it employs packet interleaver that enhances the effect of DD-PNC. 60 GHz transmission experiment with cable connection demonstrates combination of DD-PNC and DDCE can achieve 10 Gbps throughput at SNR of 25.8 dB under the condition that the phase noise is -89 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset. |
