Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a simple decentralized cell association method for heterogeneous network, where the macro base station (BS) with large transmission power is overlaid with the pico or femto BSs with small transmission power. We focus on the downlink and the purpose of the cell association is to improve the user fairness, that is the increase in the minimum of the average user throughput (worst user throughput). In the proposed method, the appropriate cell association for all users within the cell is achieved in iterative manner based on the feedback information of each of individual users assisted by the small amount of broadcast information from the respective BSs. The proposed method does not need the cooperation between BSs. From the numerical results, we show that the proposed method can achieve the better cell association for all users adaptively according to the user location distributions and increase the worst user throughput compared to the conventional cell range expansion (CRE) method.
