Abstract(in English) Applications using nonlinear effects generated in highly nonlinear fibers (HNLFs) have been widely studied and reported. To use HNLFs in various practical applications, a compact packaged polarization-maintaining HNLF with increased stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) threshold is expected. In this paper, we design and fabricate a downsized PM-HNLF (DS-PM-HNLF) with increased SBS threshold.
