Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose distributed coherent optical frequency division multiplexing (CO-OFDM) by fiber-frequency conversion for locally-defined channel mapping based on free-running laser, and successfully demonstrated in experiments with quadrature phase-shift keying and 16-quadrature-amplitude modulation by adjusting the frequency spacing and timing of multiplexing signals. The feasibility of the system over 100 Gb/s is investigated by using nonlinear fiber in a recirculating loop and optical frequency shifter. Additionally, a chirp removal by cross-phase modulation is successfully demonstrated for signals generated by directly modulated laser diodes.
