Parallel Signaling for Fast Control of Inter-domain Paths

Abstract(in English) GMPLS control plane have been deployed to photonic networks for reduction of the operational cost. For further operational cost reduction, we analyze the problems for applying GMPLS control plane to large-scale photonic networks. In those large-scale photonic networks, inter-domain paths can be optimally controlled by GMPLS and PCEs. We propose a parallel signaling for faster path control in the inter-domain path control system. Experimental results show the parallel signaling reduces the signaling time for inter-domain paths. We also analyze the relation between the signaling time, the number of the domains, and the sizes of domains.
