Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Oral mucosal diseases cause various disorders after treatments. Therefore early screening of the diseases is very important to avoid decrease of quality-of-life (QOL). In this paper, we describe that a detect method of squamous cell carcinoma and leukoplakia. These diseases take on elevatum, and intraoral images of these diseases include not only color change but also shadows. The proposed detection method for these diseases is based on the features which is represented by gradient intensity histograms of the intraoral images. Experimental results suggests that the gradient intensity histogram obtained from the value image efficiently extracts an elevatum.
