Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A redundancy for interconnecting Layer2 Networks (L2NWs) is important to achieve highly-reliable Wide Area Ethernet service. Conventional technologies for interconnecting L2NWs are unable to obtain high resource usage efficiency and forward frames with shortest path, because these technologies use backup paths only during route failure for preventing L2 loop failure. Recently, link aggregation and L2 routing protocols such as TRILL, SPB are used to realize redundant and efficient L2 NW. However, these methods impose various restrictions such as installing protocols-enabled switches on each L2NW, when these are applied for the redundancy interconnecting L2NWs. In this paper, we propose a multi-path connections method for interconnecting L2NWs without improvement in existing networks. The proposed method employs flow based routing on switches that interconnects multiple networks to prevent loop failure. We use OpenFlow to implement this method and confirmed that loop failure is prevented with the proposed method over simple physical loop structure across interconnected networks by experiment.
