Usability of a touch panel device for elderly people

Abstract(in English) This study investigated the acceptancy and usability of a touch screen device for senior people. We investigated both PC users and people without ICT skill. The factors needed for intention of use of senior people without ICT skill were convenience of information acquisition, contents related to hobbies and life, and so on. In the case of ICT skilled people, the factors were simplicity of use and convenient of use at everywhere. About performance, almost all senior people could scroll, but they missed tap action. Ease of scroll and pinch action made information-seeking behavior more efficient, and moreover, increased users' motivation of information-seeking.
